The "D" word

The "D" word is an ugly word
And it tears families apart
It makes many people shed tears
As they watch loved ones depart

The "D" word is a grown up word
That only grown ups can make the choice
It can be among peoples biggest fears
It can happen with out you having a voice

The "D" word is a changing word
It makes adults act like little kids
And kids act like mother and father dear
It comes to life when you seal the boxes lids

The "D" word is not a swear word
But it still does some damage
It can be quick or happen over years
The "D" word is "Divorce" and with it, all its garbage
